Choose FDC for Your Organization

It is empirically grounded, with a growing research evidence base. Testimonials from FDC graduates attest to the powerful impact the course has had on them, their organizations, and the families they serve.

In addition to its benefits for families, your staff, and your organization, FDC is easy and cost-effective to establish in your program!

FDC provides a simple, affordable path to ensure that all staff who need this training receive it, and that all who become FDC trainers deliver official content effectively and maintain model fidelity.

Here’s how it works.

Unlike most other programs, FDC does not require organizations to hire centralized trainers each time they wish to hold an FDC class. Instead, staff in your organization who meet our criteria to become an FDC trainer apply to one of our multi-day Instructor Institutes, offered in-person or virtually throughout the year for both the Frontline workers’ series (ESFW) and the Leadership series (ESFL). In these highly interactive sessions, FDC Instructor candidates are trained in core FDC concepts, content, and materials, as well as course administration from beginning to end. In addition, they gain experience facilitating official activities from the FDC curriculum. Upon successfully completing the Institute, Instructor candidates are certified by the National FDC program to immediately begin facilitating a class.

Maintaining active Instructor status involves attending just one virtual Instructor Update meeting at least once every three years for a nominal fee. There is no limit on the number of FDC classes Instructors may offer in succession, provided FDC course requirements and policies are adhered to.
